Here is the newest member of our family – Bob. He is a Red Neck Wallaby and weights 322 grams. He was orphaned by a hit and run fatality last night. His Mother died on a footpath that many people walked/jogged past and it wasn’t until 8 am this morning that Katherine & Daniel stopped and then phoned me. Bob has now had a bottle and is sound asleep in the humidicrib.

Here is ‘Reg’ a male koala that was hit & run tonight. A good Samaritan phoned me. Reg made a 130 kl trip up to AZWH, and I heard at 12:30am that he has a fractured arm, skull fracture and is not doing very well.
Not only don’t people care when they hit animals, the Govt doesn’t either. The Govt ‘own’ the wildlife but don’t accept any responsibility for any of the care of any wildlife. Aussie Wildlife Carers are the only volunteers in the world that care as well as pay for everything for the wildlife. And it isn’t tax deductible for them. Most carers spend in excess of $10,000 per year caring & rescuing wildlife.
